Our holiday apartment is situated in Los Altos near Torrevieja, on the Costa Blanca, Spain.
The Torrevieja area is fortunate to have many award winning European blue flag beaches along its coastline, the nearest beach is 1.5km (or 2.5km) from the apartment.
Torrevieja is surrounded by the salt lakes of Laguna de la Mata and the Salinas de Torrevieja which play host to some fascinating wildlife, such as the flamboyant flamingos, which have made the lakes their home.
Restaurants, bars, and supermarkets are within easy walking distance
We are conveniently situated approx. 35 minutes drive from Alicante (Altet) Airport. Alicante itself is approx. a 50/55 minute drive and in the opposite direction, Murcia and Cartagena are approx. a 40 minutes drive.

The city of Torrevieja get's its name from an old tower (old=vieja ; tower=torre), was first mentioned around 1800. It became famous in 1802, when it took over the salt administration from Orihuela. Apart from the salt industry, tourism and fishing keep the city alive.
